Manhattan DA Doesn't 'Understand the Pushback' Over Plans to Keep Criminals on the Street

People who live in the world of identity politics, virtue signaling and establishment corporate media narratives don’t understand the reality of the problems they and their cohorts have created. Doing so would admit that the way they do things doesn’t work. It’s one of the pitfalls of being a big city politician — you answer to the narrative instead of the people that elected you.

Take Manhattan District Attorney Alvin Bragg’s latest “insight” on the crime plaguing New York. By his own admission, Bragg doesn’t “understand the pushback” from people who just want the level of crime they’ve been experiencing to stop.

Last week, Bragg announced in a memo that he wants the city “invest more in diversion and alternatives to incarceration” rather than hold criminals accountable for their actions.

Besides Bragg’s want above, he’s also calling to “reduce pretrial incarceration,” so that possibly violent criminals can be on the street while they await trials that they might not even show up for, and to “focus on accountability, not sentence length,” which makes no sense because the more severe the crime the longer the sentence should be. That’s called be held accountable for your actions.

Bragg also wants to “limit youth in adult court,” which he justifies by writing that “brain development continues until up to age 25. While it’s true that human brain development continues into adulthood, what good does it do take the accountability he claims he wants away from ADULT criminals that might be between the ages of 18 and 25?

Back to how Bragg simply doesn’t “understand” why people may not like his stances on legal issues involving criminals.

While Bragg thinks that what he wants the criminal justice to look like “is going to make us safer,” he says that he doesn’t “understand” critics of his plan.

“It's intuitive. It's common sense,” Bragg said during a National Action Network Rally with leftist race hustler Al Sharpton on Saturday. “I don't understand the pushback.”

If he doesn’t “understand the pushback” from critics over this type of plan, then how can Bragg claim to have any level of intuition or common sense? Apparently, his sense isn’t so common, otherwise he wouldn’t be getting the pushback that he doesn’t understand.
