How mad are people at Popeyes Chicken for selling out of their new chicken sandwich? Apparently, they’re so mad that they’re filing lawsuits against the fast food chicken restaurant. No joke.

A Tennessee man filed a civil summons against Popeyes for selling out of chicken sandwiches, because — as only someone in America could say — “I can’t get happy.”

On the official court document, East Ridge resident Craig Barr is reportedly suing the chicken maker for “false advertising, deceptive business practices by entity to public. Countless time wasted driving to and from Popeyes. No chicken sandwich. Was told to come back this day- still no sandwich,” according to WTVC.

“It’s totally deceptive. Who runs out of chicken?” Barr said, according to WGN. “It’s a big fiasco. Someone has to stand up to big corporate.”

Barr was fiending so bad for one of Popeyes much publicized chicken sandwich that he even answered a “black list” Craigslist ad by someone alleging they knew a Popeyes employee. Barr paid the man $24, but never received a sandwich.

Maybe I’m not understanding the fervor here. It’s a chicken sandwich. It’s not like it’s the antidote to a poison or something. Why get rabid over something that you can make yourself for at least less money than this dude paid on Craigslist.

According to the report, Barr is asking for $5,000.

Anyway, Popeye’s announced on their Twitter page on Tuesday that they were sold out, “for now,” of “The Sandwich.”

While the sandwich has received positive reviews, a blind taste test was done recently by Barstool Sports founder Dave “El Presidente” Portnoy between the chicken sandwiches of Wendy’s, Popeyes and Chick-fil-A. Without hesitation, Portnoy blindly selected Chick-fil-A — “by far” — as the best of the three.

It’s just chicken, people. Life must be pretty damn good in the U.S. if your biggest issue in life is not getting the chicken sandwich you wanted.
