Some on the far-Left have so much hubris that they actually believe the garbage coming out of their mouths. So much so that they truly believe their requests or demands will be speedily acquiesced to.

Rep. Luis Gutierrez (D-Ill.), who is retiring from office this year, took it upon himself Wednesday to put his two cents in on the House floor telling President Trump that “it is time for to resign the Office of the Presidency.”

“Mr. Speaker, I have written a letter to the President of the United States, which I am sending today that carries a simple message on behalf of the American people,” Gutierrez said in his speech. “Mr. President, it is time for you to resign the Office of the Presidency for the good of the United States and her people.”

“On behalf of the American people?” Did any of you give your consent for Gutierrez to speak on behalf of you? I didn’t think so. Sure Gutierrez represents the people of Illinois that elected him, but I’ll bet that at least 40 percent of Illinoisans wouldn’t want Gutierrez to speak for them either.

As part of Gutierrez’s self-righteous speech, he listed HIS reasons that Trump should leave the Oval Office:

The fact is clear: The President is the target of multiple criminal investigations on several fronts:

Number 1, the violation of federal election laws, including the failure to report payments and contributions as required under campaign finance law;

Number 2, the violation of tax, banking, and fraud laws related to the Trump Organization and immediate business associates and family members of the President;

Number 3; apparent involvement and encouragement of the illegal hacking of political opponents during the 2016 campaign and efforts to derail investigations and inquiries since taking office;

And number 4, working with, encouraging, and collaborating with a foreign government, Russia, to interfere in the 2016 election in order to help the President’s campaign – combined with efforts while in office to obstruct justice in the investigation of the campaign.

Did I miss something? When did the Trump/Russian collusion investigation come to an end? Apparently, Gutierrez has information that Special Counsel Robert Mueller doesn’t have. Or maybe ol’ Luis is off his rocker again. Wouldn’t be the first time.

Gutierrez concluded his speech with fake compassion and the repeated plea for Trump to resign.

“Mr. Speaker, in my letter, I humbly ask – as a proud American, a patriot and public servant, a dad, granddad and a fellow human being – I ask the President to resign immediately,” Gutierrez said. “Please resign and spare the nation from this ongoing nightmare.  Don’t do this to us.  Don’t make us go down with you.  Step aside, sir, for the good of your country and the world.”

Do you hear that? It’s the world’s smallest violin playing just for Gutierrez. Cry me a river, pal.
