The former Director of National Intelligence (DNI) John Ratcliffe wrote that the COVID-19 lab leak theory is “very close to a certainty” in a Fox News op-ed published on Monday.
This theory into the origin of the coronavirus pandemic was originally censored by the legacy media in conjunction with big tech companies, often labeling the theory as “misinformation.”
Meanwhile Ratcliffe, one of the foremost officials with access to information related to the pandemic, now says it’s more than a possibility that it came from the Wuhan Institute of Virology (WIV).
“I had access to all of the U.S. government’s most sensitive intelligence related to the pandemic,” Ratcliffe wrote. “My informed opinion is that the lab leak theory isn’t just a ‘possibility,’ at the very least it is more like a probability, if not very close to a certainty.”
He also noted that the Chinese Communist Party’s (CCP) inability to provide transparency, scientific evidence — based on the intelligence that he’s seen — and common sense all point towards a lab leak.
Ratcliffe’s opinion comes as the GOP House Foreign Affairs Committee investigation allegedly “proves” that COVID-19 came from the WIV, according to a press release on the committee's website.
Rep. Michael McCaul (R-Texas), the committee’s lead Republican, said in the release that “a preponderance of the evidence proves that all roads lead to the WIV.”
McCaul attributes the dishonesty of the CCP, the WIV, and the scientific community due to the skepticism of a possible coverup.
“This was the greatest coverup of all time and has caused the deaths of more than four million people around world, and people must be held responsible,” he said.
Both McCaul and Ratcliffe conclude that China must be held accountable for their likely role in unleashing this coronavirus on the world — but more importantly, that role should be deeply investigated.
“World leaders owe it to the billions of people harmed by this virus — and to the families of those who lost their lives — to get to the bottom of its origins, for the sake of justice and to ensure this never happens again,” Ratcliffe wrote.
