Shelter-in-place directive enforcement has been getting more and more intense over the last several days, as judges Sunday started to order people exposed to the coronavirus to wear ankle monitors, whether or not they may have tested positive for the virus.

According to a report by CNN, authorities in Louisville, KY, have ordered at least four people exposed to coronavirus to wear ankle monitors in response to their refusal to adhere to stay-at-home directions.

A person known only as “D.L.” who had not tested positive, was ordered to be fitted with an ankle monitor for 14 days by Jefferson Circuit Court Judge Angela Bisig, after D.L. left their house often, despite the fact that they lived with someone who had tested positive for the virus. Now, if D.L. leaves the house over the course of the next few weeks, D.L. could face criminal charges, reports WDRB.

This is the latest in a series of drastic quarantine enforcement measures including police breaking up “driving parades” and ticketing people for taking leisurely cruises, and threats of fines and jail time for those leaving their homes without giving a good enough reason to authorities.
