At the March 20 Dallas premiere of the new film “Paul: Apostle of Christ,” reporter Rick Manning interviewed Jim Caviezel, who plays the Saint Luke in the new movie.

Dove Channel host Matthew Faraci shot a video of Manning asking Caviezel about the persecution of Chrtistians.

Caviezel mentioned the Coptic and Syrian Christians in the Middle East who have been persecuted, then argued that Western Christians should help them:

I would say, the United States, we as Christians have to stop being afraid. Every man dies, not every man really lives. In this film, what Paul says at the end is really powerful: ‘To live as Christ, to die as him.’ We all die in the end, [what matters] it’s how you live your life. There’s a lot of people out there right now who need our help. We as Christians need to stop being afraid of that. I think modern day Christians really struggle with death. Billy Graham just died at 99 years and lot of people cried, but my God, if you don’t believe that man is with Jesus  then what kind of faith do you have?

"Paul: Apostle of Christ" opened March 23. Written and directed by Andrew Hyatt, it stars Caviezel and James Faulkner as St. Paul. The film follows Paul's his last days awaiting execution in Rome, and Luke's efforts to transmit Paul's story onto paper.
