Jim Bob Duggar on Petition to Cancel '19 Kids and Counting:' ‘God is Expanding Our Borders Through the National Media’

Controversy surrounding the TLC reality show “19 Kids and Counting” has only given the show “more exposure,” says dad Jim Bob Duggar and the family’s Facebook fan page picked up 50,000 fans in a week, proving that all publicity really is good publicity.

As previously reported, a Change.org petition was launched to cancel the popular reality show because LGBTQ activists said the mom on the show, Michelle Duggar, was encouraging fear and hate in her efforts to repeal a local law. A counter-petition was launched to keep the show on the air.

The Change.org petition to remove the show picked up over 180,000 signatures, but Jim Bob says "they won't succeed” in removing the most popular show on TLC from the air.

"Our show is the No. 1 show on TLC. We love everybody. It's a small group creating this fuss. All it has done is give us more exposure," he said at the Booster Banquet at Hannibal-LaGrange University.

“We’ve gained 50,000 Facebook fans last week,” he said. “God is expanding our borders through the national media.”

The show “19 Kids and Counting” is a reality show that follows the Christian, homeschooling Duggar family.
