‘It Must End’: Progressive Group MoveOn Says Low Wages are ‘Violence’

Progressive group MoveOn in its push to raise the minimum wage to $15 is going to rhetorical extremes.

The group on Thursday posted a picture on Twitter supporting the campaign “Fight for $15” along with the caption, “Low wages are violence.”

“Knowingly letting people suffer is violence. It must end,” the caption goes on.

The picture features a man holding up a fill-in-the-blank poster in Spanish asking him to describe his work and what he’s “fighting for.”

“I’m doing the jobs of 3 people: cashier, baker and running the store,” writes Miguel Caloxto, whom the picture says he works for Winchell’s. “That’s a lot of responsibility for just minimum wage. I deserve $15 AND union rights.”

The tweet comes after the U.S. Supreme Court ruled that government workers can’t be forced to contribute to labor unions.

What the tweet doesn’t say is that hiking the minimum wage harms entry-level workers, not helps them. And since when was having a job worse than not having a job at all?

MoveOn is involved in several liberal campaigns including a campaign to “defend the Mueller investigation” called TrumpIsNotAboveTheLaw.org, an anti-gun and anti-NRA campaign called “enough is enough,” and, most recently, the “#StopKavanaugh Campaign” to prevent Trump’s nominee Brett Kavanaugh from replacing retiring Justice Anthony Kennedy on Supreme Court.
