These “peaceful” protesters need a time-out. The same time-out that none of their parents gave them, because they believed that their children were special little snowflakes.
On Saturday, protesters in New Haven, Conn., blocked an ambulance from getting to the hospital all because it didn’t fit with their hateful agenda. That alone should make your blood boil, but the story doesn’t end there.
The ambulance in question was not only blocked by protesters, but the emergency vehicle had a critically-ill patient on board. As a result, EMT’s had to perform an emergency procedure in the ambulance instead of at the hospital where the patient should have received emergency care.
All of this happened as part of a protest whose message was: “No Ban No Wall New Haven.”
The state of Connecticut, despite its small size, is known for its giant illegal immigrant population. According to the American Immigration Council, as of 2013, Connecticut currently houses 254,913 illegal immigrants. That comes out to 7.1 percent of the state’s population.
In case you were wondering, that percentage is double the national average, which was at 3.4 percent in 2016.
The New Haven Independent reported that the condition of the patient has not been publicly stated.
One of the groups protesting Trump’s proposed immigration actions was Unidad Latina en Accion (ULA). The group represents Central American immigrants in the United States. (There's been no word on whether the Guatemalan contingent also protested the Mexican government for building a border wall between Mexico and their native country.)
The last bit of liberal lunacy in this aggravating story came from the lawyer for the protesters, Patricia Kane.
Kane commented how state police were being intimidating and scary. She also commented how it was the police’s fault for the unrest, calling it “a police riot.”
Kane also said, “The trooper with the dog frightened everybody. The dog jumped on me. Shades of Selma.”
Really? Selma? I’m sorry, Ms. Kane. What do you know about real strife except to argue on behalf of people who have already broken the law?
The Independent also noted that Kane has video of the incident, but that she conveniently doesn’t want to release the video yet. She said the video shows a police dog snarling at protesters. One has to wonder how many cases Kane has taken on that would make her believe that a police dog doing its job is breaking the law.
As for the protesters that might’ve cost the person in the ambulance their life, every single one of them involved in the blocking of the emergency vehicle should be arrested and prosecuted to the fullest extent of the law.
