How Convenient: Actress Jameela Jamil Magically Comes Out as 'Queer' After Backlash For Being Cast On an LGBTQ Show

As if the world couldn’t possibly get any more stupid, actress Jameela Jamil is now claiming she’s “queer” in response to the backlash after HBO cast her in their latest LGBTQ show.

HBO hired Jamil for their new unscripted dance contest show “Legendary” featuring a type of dance calling “voguing,” which was first started by black and gay people.

After facing criticism for being a straight woman with no experience in dance being cast in a dance show geared toward an LGBTQ audience, Jamil suddenly declared she was “queer,” claiming she’d just never told anybody about it before because "it's not easy within the south Asian community to be accepted.”

“It’s also scary as an actor to openly admit your sexuality, especially when you're already a brown female in your thirties,” Jamil said, despite having never lumped herself in with the gay community before and currently being in a heterosexual relationship with musician James Blake,

"This is absolutely not how I wanted to come out," she said. The actress added she was taking a temporary break from Twitter "because I don't want to read mean comments dismissing this" after members of the LGBTQ community accused her of lying about her sexuality to avoid backlash.

And even leftists Twitter wasn't buying it.
