If you take any stock at all when people, including the media, call President Donald Trump a “Nazi,” then you might have egg on your face when seeing the Hanukkah celebration ceremony the commander-in-chief held at the White House Thursday evening.

Trump honored the Jewish Festival of Lights in part by acknowledging the plight of the Jewish people during the Nazi Holocaust in the late 1930s going all the way through the end of World War II in 1945. Eight Holocaust survivors were in attendance at the ceremony: Sara Censor, Bertha Einhorn, David Einhorn, Ethel Flam, Gita Landau, Dolly Rabinowitz, Ruth Salamon, and Zahava Ungar, according to the White House.

Trump gave, what seemed to be, a very heartfelt speech, while asking the Holocaust survivors to join him behind the podium:

Each of you has endured evil beyond description. Your treasured attendance at this ceremony calls to mind the words of Elie Wiesel: ‘For the dead and the living, we must bear witness.’ Today and every day we renew our solemn pledge. Never again.

Trump also observed those that fell victim in the deadly Tree of Life synagogue in Pittsburgh, Pa. this past October.

“In the aftermath of that wicked assault, we reaffirmed our solemn duty to confront anti-Semitism everywhere it occurs,” Trump said. “We must stamp out this vile hatred from the world.”

After reiterating his move to officially recognize Jerusalem as the “true capital of Israel” by moving the U.S. Embassy to the city, the crowd could be heard chanting “four more years.”

Following the conclusion of Trump’s speech, the president shook the hand of each Holocaust survivor.
