HEARTWARMING: Dance-Off Between Third Grade Boy and Denver Police Officer Goes Viral

A video of a third-grade boy and a Denver police officer having a dance-off at a local mall has gone viral, and for good reason.

The heartwarming video shows DPD Officer Thanaret Phuvapaisalkij, nicknamed “PJ,” and Jayden Marquez battle it out on the 16th Street Mall in downtown Denver with their best dance moves.

It began when Marquez approached PJ asking for a picture in front of his police motorcycle.

“He came up and he said he wanted to take a picture in front of the motorcycle. I didn’t know what he was going to do," PJ told local station FOX31. "He did that freeze and I was like, he dances a little bit."

Then PJ showed Jayden some of his breakdancing moves.

Jayden’s mom Vanessa Marquez captured the moment and shared the video, telling FOX31 that it was nice to see something positive among “a lot of negative things out there in the media.”

PJ enjoyed the experience, too:

"I enjoy sharing my art with the community, so just to be able to do that with him was great, it was awesome," he said.

“PJ dances in his free time and started a while ago,” reports FOX31. “Jayden just picked it up about a year ago and enjoys learning new moves.”

The video was published on Tuesday and already has over 1.9 million views, 15,000 likes, and 31,000 comments.
