Hawaiian Sen. Hirono Doesn't Have a Problem with Activists Harassing Republicans

It’s funny how you’ll see a member of Congress on a talk show — because that’s essentially what CNN has become, one giant talk show — who you’ve never really seen before. But then, the media will discover that member of Congress says all the right things, according to them. All of a sudden that member of Congress is everywhere, and you’re not sure exactly why.

Sen. Mazie Hirono (D-Hawaii) is one of those members of Congress.

Hirono joined CNN’s Dana Bash on “State of the Union” on Sunday and was asked, more than once, whether she feels that Leftist protesters who harass Republicans at restaurants and their homes is going too far. Hirono’s response reveals exactly where the Left currently stands.

“I think that it just means that there are a lot of people who are very, very much motivated by what is going on,” Hirono told Bash before going into a hit job on Republicans for their persistence on the confirmation of Supreme Court Justice Brett Kavanaugh.

Umm — that wasn’t an answer. If anything, that was a comment in defense of those that harass Republicans in their private lives. To be fair, the Left has never really had a problem with harassment, as long as it’s the type of harassment that benefits their cause.

Bash asked Hirono the same question a second time, hoping that Hirono would give some sort of “yes or no” answer. I think Bash overestimated Hirono’s competency in giving straight answers.

Here’s Hirono’s full comments:

Apparently, Hirono thinks that “activists” should continue to do what they’re doing, as long as they don’t break the law.

Oh, and is it just me or did she essentially say that because there’s “white supremacists and all of that” it’s okay to harass Republicans? We’ll never know, because Hirono couldn’t expand. She used buzz words in order to get her point across, and it just fell flat. Why? Because what she said was epically dumb.

These are the people that represent the American people. Class and civility be damned!
