Get ready for a new Monopoly – with a brand new annoyingly feminist twist.

This is no longer your grandma’s classic game (you know, the one where she beat the stuffing out of you in a 5-hour-marathon on family night before anyone had smart phones to distract them). Nope, this is a brand new, progressive Monopoly – one that intentionally puts female players at an advantage over the men.

“Hasbro is debuting a new game celebrating women's empowerment -- Ms. Monopoly, marking the first time in Monopoly history when a new mascot will be featured on the cover of the game,” CNN reports.

That “women’s empowerment” means brand new additions to the nearly 85-year-old beloved board game, including a new rule that gives women an extra$40 when they “pass go,” but keeps the male players at the standard $200.

“The idea is to create a game where women make more than men, the first game to do so, according to Hasbro,” CNN says.

And your old strategy of putting a hotel on Boardwalk and making a quick million? Not anymore. Instead of buying and selling property, players will“invest in inventions created by women -- things like Wi-Fi and chocolate chip cookies,” the report adds.

The company claims the new version is "a fun new take on the game that creates a world where women have an advantage often enjoyed by men.”

“But don't worry, if men play their cards right, they can make more money too,” Hasbro added.

"With all of the things surrounding female empowerment, it felt right to bring this to Monopoly in a fresh new way," Jen Boswinkel, senior director of global brand strategy and marketing for Hasbro Gaming, said, according to USA Today. “It’s giving the topic some relevancy to everyone playing it that everybody gets a turn, and this time women get an advantage at the start.”

Gosh, thanks. What would women ever do without such a deliberate leg up?
