You may think that someone who breaks federal law is a criminal.  You may also not wish a Chelsea Clinton presidency upon anyone, but these thoughts would not jive with the thought processes of Rep. Luis Gutierrez (D Ill.).

In a speech on the House floor last week Gutierrez touched upon both issues.

“As far as the Attorney General is concerned any immigrant who is here illegally is a criminal,” Gutierrez said. “He has ordered the government to prosecute immigration violations, even minor ones, to the fullest extent of the law and to make prosecution of immigrants a top priority.”

Shock! A U.S. Attorney General wants to enforce federal law! (I suppose after the last 8 years, actually enforcing the laws on the books may come as a surprise).

“Our legal immigration system already works fine, according to both Senator and US Attorney General Sessions,” Gutierrez later said.

“No matter that some people who are receiving their visas today applied for them when Bill Clinton was president. And that those applying for visas today will probably get them when Chelsea Clinton is President of the United States.”

I guess Gutierrez, who endorsed Hillary, just can’t wait to endorse another Clinton bid for the White House.
