Rock bottom’s got a basement, and I think we've just found it.

Dan Uhlfelder, a liberal attorney in Florida, is raising money on social media by asking followers to contribute to “body bags” to pass out to beachgoers in Florida. (This is the same guy who, if you recall, dressed up as a grim reaper and stomped around beaches castigating people for not "socially distancing" enough and ranting against the governor for opening up the state to avoid economic devastation. So that tells you the intellectual bandwidth we're dealing with, here.)

“Beginning next Saturday I will have a team handing out free body bags throughout the state to Florida beachgoers,” Uhlfelder wrote on Twitter.

“Each body bag costs $10. We ordered a few hundred tonight,” he added. “Please consider chipping in $10 to cover the cost of a body bag. For every $10 contribution we will be able to order one more to hand out.”

The link in Uhlfelder’s tasteless tweet reveals the not-so-clever stunt - which he's dubbed the "COVID Grim Reaper Tour -  appears to be a political fundraiser for Democrats, taking users to a website where they can donate to two different PACs that raise money for liberal candidates. Nothing we found on the website allows users to contribute directly to the purchase of the stunt body bags.

“Join us to help raise funds to distribute equally to Democrats running for federal office. They include, but are not limited to: the opponent of Matt Gaetz, Phil Ehr; and Christy Smith, who's running in the special election in CA on May 12 to fill the vacancy caused by Katie Hill,” the website reads.

The website, which is supported by the grassroots fundraising group ActBlue, explains the money “will be divided evenly between Make My Day PAC and Party Majority PAC.”

Whether Uhlfelder is actually planning to use the money on body bags to pass out on Florida’s beaches is anyone’s guess. I probably don’t need to tell you what mine is.
