President Trump on Friday tweeted celebrating how rapper A$AP Rocky, who was imprisoned in Sweden on an alleged assault charge, was released from prison.
“A$AP Rocky released from prison and on his way home to the United States from Sweden,” he wrote. “It was a Rocky Week, get home ASAP A$AP!”
A Swedish court ruled on Friday that A$AP Rocky, whose real name is Rakim Mayers, would be released pending an assault verdict in his case.
It is unclear whether the judge ruled the rapper would be able to return to America in the interim, though Trump tweeted that Rocky was "on his way home."

Prosecutors asked that the 30-year-old rapper, whose real name is Rakim Mayers, get a six-month sentence during closing arguments Friday. Mayers told the court he thought community service would be a proper punishment for him.
The development comes after a witness in the A$AP Rocky assault case revised her story from initial police reports, testifying in a Swedish court Friday that she didn't actually see the American rapper hitting a man with a bottle.
The American rapper was arrested early July after defending himself during an altercation with two men whom he claimed were following him and his bodyguards for four blocks and harassing them. Mayers shared video of what happened prior to what was described as a fight by witnesses, appearing to show him attempting to de-escalate the situation.
Nonetheless, Mayers was arrested and held in Swedish prison.
Mayers plead not guilty to the assault charge and said that he was acting in self-defense.
Witnesses originally claimed they saw Mayers hit a man with a bottle but one witness later recanted her testimony and another said they did not see him holding a bottle at all.
President Trump was advised about the situation two weeks ago and had advocated for the star, whom he believed was “being held unfairly.”
