Tommy Robinson is free — at least for now.

Anti-Islam activist Tommy Robinson was released from HMP Belmarsh prison on Friday after serving nine weeks of a nine month sentence for reporting on the trial of Muslim child rapists in 2018.

Rebel Media founder Ezra Levant was at the prison awaiting the release of Robinson, who uncharacteristically donned shaggy hair and beard.

“I’ve walked into Belmarsh prison, and walked out, without seeing another prisoner,” Robinson said. “It’s good for my safety.”

Some had feared that Robinson being sent back to prison would be a death sentence for the controversial activist. But, Robinson is out now, is seemingly in high spirits, and just as combative with the British press as ever.

Here’s video of Robinson’s release, along with his chiding of the press:

Robinson, who in part considers himself a citizen journalist, took a shot at the journalists whom he claims smear him whenever they get the chance:

You’ve read their lies. The Daily Mirror [who still label Robinson as a “far-right extremist”] lied, saying I was attacked in this prison [Belmarsh]. You lied. You lied to the public. You made up an entire story, or you’re part of the propaganda that’s pushed out.

My only message to them is you’re a disgrace and an embarrassment, cause if this happened to a journalist in Hong Kong — if what’s happened to me happened to a journalist in Russia, in China, you’d all be up in arms. But, because I talk about “Islam,” you’re all silent. You’re all complicit in the attack on free speech that we’re witnessing. You're all complicit in what’s happened to our country [England]. All of the media are.

Here’s Robinson after leaving the prison with Levant:

It’ll be interesting to see what the next step for Robinson will be following his second release from prison in a year-and-a-half.
