If you go by the narratives of the media and activists who have never fired a weapon before, you’d think that the AR-15 was the deadliest firearm known to man and that it serves no practical purpose. Well, that pointless weapon just saved a 15-year-old girl in Florida.

Teenager Jordan Broaderick was with her family at the Ocala National Forest last week when an alligator began to veer towards the girl who was floating on a raft, according to Washington Post. The 15-year-old — Jordan Broaderick — luckily found a tree branch that she hung onto in order to stay out of range that the gator could’ve possibly bitten her.

Shortly after seeing her child being stuck clinging to a branch to avoid serious injury — or possibly even death — Broaderick’s mother called police.

“My daughter is stuck in a fricking tree and there are gators surrounding her,” the mother told the dispatcher. “We can’t get her out. She’s just 15.”

Lake County Sheriff’s Deputy Mitch Blackmon arrived on the scene after the teenager had been hanging on for dear life for “about 30 minutes.”

According to the Washington Post, Miami-Dade Zoological Park and Gardens spokesman Ron Magill said that alligators “are particularly aggressive and territorial this time of year because July is the end of mating season for gators.

Needless to say, Blackmon assisted in the preservation of Broaderick’s life. But, it was the method the sheriff’s deputy used to end the threat that won’t fit into the media’s anti-gun narrative.

“I fired one single 223 round from my Bushmaster AR15, killing the alligator,” Blackmon wrote in the police report.

Broaderick was saved, and it was an AR-15 that saved her life.

It’s well past time that we disregard any media narrative since they — along with anti-gun politicians — don’t seem to have the people’s best interests in mind. We speak, and they don’t listen — well, unless what we have to say fits their agenda.

I’ll say it again. An AR-15 saved this girl’s life. That’s something neither the media or the politicians can dispute.
