Law enforcement officials say a fire that partially burned down a crisis pregnancy center in Illinois this week was set on purpose - not that you'll hear much about it in the news, considering the clinic was helping women find alternatives to killing their child.
Firefighters responded to reports of a blaze at the Women’s Care Center in Peoria, Illinois just before 3 a.m. Monday morning, where they found flames already shooting out of the building’s front windows. The fire was quickly put out, but not before it had managed to cause about $250,000 worth of damage.
Now, officials are saying the fire was intentionally set and they are investigating the incident as arson. Authorities haven’t released the name of a suspect or any possible motive for why the fire was set, but both the ATF and the FBI are assisting with the investigation.
Women’s Care Center is a pro-life free clinic that offers pregnancy testing, ultrasounds and counseling to expecting women, all at no charge. The group’s 11 clinics do not offer abortions. One local report states the clinic is located next door to a former abortion clinic that closed in 2019.
