The FBI has reportedly launched an official investigation after an Antifa group in Portland threatened Mayor Ted Wheeler’s life in a disturbing video posted to social media this week.

The disturbing video message includes a masked Antifa member going on a tirade against the government in a digitally altered voice to disguise his identity. In a two-minute long rambling message, the person explains that “window smashing and riots are a necessary escalation when those in power have proven that they are unwilling to listen.”

“If peaceful marches, speeches and voting were enough to bring about that goal, then we would have already been there,” the anonymous domestic terrorist states.

The person also directly and repeatedly threatens Wheeler by name.

“The mayor of this city is undeserving of his position. He has made it abundantly clear that windows are more important to him that human life.”

The person goes on to state Antifa is “not challenging the idea of Ted as mayor – we are challenging the idea of having mayors at all,” saying that “abolition is absolute.”

The video ends with the Antifa member telling Wheeler directly, “Ted, we are asking for the last time that you resign. If you ignore this message outright, the destruction to your precious way of life is going to escalate.”

“Blood is on your hands, Ted. The next time, it may just be your own.”

The Oregonian and the New York Post report that both Portland police and the FBI are investigating the threat after having learned about the video mid-week.

Having allowed Antifa to run rampant through his city for several years, wreaking havoc and violently assaulting businesses and residents throughout the city on what’s become a nearly nightly basis, Wheeler finally began pushing back against the group more heavily this week, asking residents to “unmask” the violent rioters” and to “take the city back” from the mob.

“They want to burn, they want to bash, they want to intimidate, they want to assault,” Mayor Ted Wheeler (D) said Friday. “Our job is to unmask them, arrest them and prosecute them.”
