Elon Musk’s latest star turn has less to do with his contributions to intergalactic space travel or the electric vehicle market, and more to do with taking on far lefties and wokeness, with charismatic aplomb.
Shortly after his Twitter beat down of Massachusetts Senator Elizabeth Warren, in which he branded her a “karen” after she tried to drum up animosity towards him for his wealth (you know, tax the rich, yadda yadda yadda), Musk served up some more harsh truths for the left in an interview with conservative satire site the Babylon Bee, one of which was a blistering quote about wokeness being the biggest threat to civilization.
Yeah, go Elon!
The interview between Musk and Babylon Bee CEO Seth Dillon, EIC Kyle Mann, and Creative Director Ethan Nicolle, began with Musk noting how unliveable California is and then the lib-roasting began.
Musk elicited hearty laughter after bringing up one of the Bee’s California-related satirical headlines which was “Gavin Newsom named U-Haul Salesman of the Year,” because his policies are driving people out of the state. It prompted the businessman to remark that the state was once the land of “opportunity,” but now has become the “land of overregulation, over-litigation, overtaxation, and scorn.”
The guys from the Bee then asked why Musk started paying attention to their work. He mentioned he thought they were funny, and were a nice change from The Onion, another satire site Musk stopped paying attention to once they became too PC. “I used to be a big fan of The Onion but then they became too politically correct,” he said.

Then came his verbal crusade against wokeness.
Musk claimed that the Onion has “sort of gone a bit in the SNL direction.” Like SNL, he claimed The Onion has gotten the “Woke Mind Virus,” as he calls it.
He then tore into the NBC sketch show that reeks of leftwing bias. “I used to be a big fan of SNL,” he said, but said he watches it less and less now because “many, if not most of the SNL episodes are kind of a moral lecture on why we’re bad human beings, instead of comedy.”
Musk also stated that SNL “won’t make fun of anything on the left,” and that “there are a lot of ‘no fly’ zones” in comedy in general now because of the left. To him it seems that so much of modern comedy avoids trying to “get to an essential truth that is humorous” and favors “propaganda” instead.
The gentlemen then discussed the “woke mind virus.” Speaking in almost scientific terms, Musk described this as being a “prevalent mind virus, and arguably one of the biggest threats to modern civilization.” Well that’s clear. Lefty Americans are literally engaged in tearing down this country’s foundations due to the “woke mind virus.”
Later in the interview, Musk expounded on his view of the virus, saying, “At its heart, wokeness is divisive, exclusionary and hateful. It basically gives mean people a shield to be mean and cruel, armored in false virtue.”
What an assessment. Of course props to Musk for trying to better the world with space exploration, but perhaps his greatest contribution to society may be helping to kill wokeness.
