Elizabeth Warren is still refusing to take a DNA test to prove her claims that she is, in fact, part Native American.

Warren has long been criticized for claiming she’s part Native American ever since it was revealed that she claimed the ethinic connection on multiple employment forms for both Harvard University and the University of Pennsylvania, and in a legal directory published by the Association of American Law schools from 1986 to 1995. She swears, though, that she never used her claims of being a minority to “get ahead.”

Then again, she also claimed she’s part Native American in the first place, and can’t/won’t prove that. So…

On NBC’s Meet the Press Sunday, Warren responded to a challenge by the editorial board of The Berkshire Eagle, a Pittsburgh newspaper, calling for Warren to take a DNA test to once and for all put to rest questions over her claimed ethnicity.

"Were she to test positive for Native American DNA, it would permanently resolve the issue — while possibly shutting down President Trump. Should the test come up negative, it would be an opportunity for the senator to perform an act rarely seen among politicians: an admission of her error and a full-throated apology to Native American tribes and anyone else offended by her spurious claim," the editorial reads.

Warren refused to definitively tell NBC host Chuck Todd that she wouldn’t take a test, instead re-telling the story (for the umpteeth time) about how her father and supposedly part-Native American mother eloped over his family's concerns about their allegedly mixed-race marriage.

But rather than prove that, Warren said she’s simply sticking by the story, just because.

"It's part of me and no one's ever going to take that away from me — not ever," she said.

Poor Liz. You can’t lose something you never had.
