Eagles' Chris Long Vows To Skip White House Visit If His Team Wins the Super Bowl

You may disagree with the president. You may not. But, one thing is for sure: if you get invited to go to the White House and meet the president, you put aside your petty differences and represent who is paying you in the classiest way possible.

As we all know, the perennially wounded extends to professional athletes as we’ve seen through players taking a knee during the national anthem, among other things.

Enter Super Bowl media day. It’s a day in which players from both teams participating in the game are made available to the media for a constant barrage of questions ahead of the big game.

The Philadelphia Eagles Defensive End — and 275-pound social justice warrior — Chris Long said during a podcast on Monday that he won’t be attending the White House should the Eagles win the Super Bowl.

“No, I'm not going to the White House," Long scoffed. "Are you kidding me?”

This dude acted like the person asking the question just shot his dog. Was it really that ridiculous of a question?

Long didn’t go to the White House last year after his former team — and the same team that the Eagles will be facing in Super Bowl LII — won the NFL title game beating the Atlanta Falcons in one of the greatest comebacks in sports history.

“My son grows up, and I believe the legacy of our president is going to be what it is,” Long continued, “I don't want him to say, 'Hey dad, why'd you go [to the White House] when you knew the right thing was to not go?”

I get standing up for your principles so that you leave a lifelong good impression on your children. I get that. But, when you make it seem like President Trump is Adolf Hitler, you do yourself a disservice publicly in the brainpower department. If Trump was Hitler, you would have no choice but to go to the White House and shake hands with the president.

Get off your ass, put on the suit that you overpaid for and represent your team and city during their official White House visit.

Although, if the Patriots win — and they are favored to win — Long won’t have to worry about being invited to the White House again.
