When petulant children know they’re not going to get their way, what do they do? Often, they’ll throw temper tantrums. That’s apparently what the sitting House Speaker Nancy Pelosi (D-Calif.) did during a highly reported storm out following a meeting between President Donald Trump and lawmakers at the White House on Wednesday.

On Thursday, White House Deputy Press Secretary Hogan Gidley spoke with Fox News about what actually happened that caused Pelosi to walk out of the meeting with Trump.

For context, Senate Minority Leader Chuck Schumer told the press Thursday that Trump had called Pelosi a “third-grade politician," leading to a walkout by Dems.

While Gidley admits that he wasn't in the room at the time of the meeting, he also said that he was “just outside” the room where he had “heard this activity the whole time.”

“I have seen Nancy Pelosi act this way now multiple times in multiple meetings,” Gidley said. “She takes the opportunity when she is invited to the White House to have a simple conversation, but serious ones, about what we’re doing at our southern border, for example, what we are doing in Syria, for example. She takes that opportunity to stand up and actually dictate, or try to, to the President of the United States — to push her agenda.”

Gidley also conveyed that during a previous meeting Pelosi simply wouldn’t listen to briefings about the southern border.

“When we were talking about the southern border, she refused to listen to the briefings by the men and women who put their lives on the line every day,” Gidley continued. “She did it again yesterday, with four-star generals in the room, telling her exactly the strategy of what was going on. She refused to hear it, stood up, yelled at the president and then stormed out. But, she has done this time and time again.”

Gidley then divulged another tidbit of information about Pelosi's behavior toward White House staff during her storming out.

"I will say, when she actually left the room, came out and got her phone, she was extremely disrespectful to our staff, calling them 'incompetent," Gidley said. "And she does that repeatedly as well. It's very disgraceful for a Speaker of the House to act that way.
