House Democrats are vowing to move ahead with their own investigations into President Donald Trump, saying they’ll look into everything from allegations of obstruction of justice to general corruption, Mueller's report be damned.

Despite the fact that newly released report from special prosecutor Robert Mueller concluded (after nearly two years of exhaustive investigation, no less) that there was zero proof Trump or his campaign colluded with Russia to rig the 2016 presidential election, Democrats are doubling down on their efforts to undermine the president heading into 2020.

"We’re going to move forward with our investigations of obstruction of justice, abuses of power, corruption, to defend the rule of law, which is our job," House Judiciary Chairman Jerrold Nadler said Sunday at a news conference in New York. "It’s a broader mandate than the special prosecutor had.”

Nadler’s pledge comes as Democrats and the liberal media are still reeling from the Mueller probe’s results released Friday, which found no evidence that Trump had colluded with Russia and declined to state one way or the other whether Trump obstructed justice by firing former FBI Director James Comey, according to U.S. Attorney General Bill Barr.

Barr released a statement Sunday summarizing Mueller's report and saying the DOJ concluded there was insufficient evidence to charge the president with obstruction.

While the Mueller report's conclusion seems pretty clear, Democrats’ next move against the president is much less so. Seemingly unable to accept the outcome of an investigation they’d been banking on for nearly two years, California Rep. Maxine Waters suggested to MSNBC’s Joy Reid Sunday that the report ultimately didn’t actually say what it said.

“I want to tell you that this president has a way of trying to get into people’s heads and indoctrinate them,” Waters said. “He’s been saying ‘no collusion, no collusion, no collusion’ over and over again for a long time now, and he’s going to try and conclude that this report is proving that there’s no collusion. And you have a lot of his sycophants who will, you know, take the nod from him and say the same thing.”

“We cannot allow them to get away with this,” she added. “This is not the end of anything.”
