Creepy: Microsoft, Other Big Tech Companies Working with Health Care Industry to Create Vaccine 'Digital Passport'

Big Tech companies, along with the government — both federal and state — are becoming very creepy. They were always creepy, they’re just not as bashful about it as they once were. If you thought they were flexing their authoritarian muscle before, just wait.

According to Fox Business, Microsoft, Oracle and Salesforce have come together to work alongside “technology and health care companies to create the Vaccination Credential Initiative (VCI).”

Fox Business reported:

The technology would allow individuals to obtain a copy of their immunization records through a digital wallet of their choice, such as Apple Wallet or Google Pay, while those without smartphones would receive paper printed with QR codes containing verifiable credentials. In addition, the VCI said it will also try to develop new standards to help determine whether a person has or hasn’t been inoculated against the virus.

Other health care and technology leaders involved in the initative include the Commons Project Foundation, the CARIN Alliance, Cerner, Change Healthcare, Epic, Evernorth, the Mayo Clinic, MITRE, and Safe Health.

So what is to prevent Apple or Google from one day in the near future preventing people from making purchases online or in stores because they don’t have the required “digital passport?”

Think China’s social credit system. Or, you could even think of Germany in the 1930s and 1940s  requiring people to show their papers or they basically couldn’t do anything.

Executive vice president of global business units for Oracle Mike Sicilia made a comment that isn’t exactly encouraging for those that appreciate the sovereignty of the U.S.

“We are committed to working collectively with the technology and medical communities, as well as global governments, to ensure people will have secure access to this information where and when they need it,” Sicilia said.

What if you don’t want to get the vaccine for whatever reason? Will you be restricted in your daily life? What about free will…or the Bill of Rights? Do those things mean anything anymore?

When Big Tech, politicians and the health care industry get in bed with one another, it doesn’t exactly spell out prosperity for many people, does it?
