Comedian Whitney Cummings in an appearance on late-night show “Conan” claimed that she was reported by an intern while working on a TV show last year for saying “Merry Christmas.”
How dare she.
"Last year, I was working on a TV show, got in trouble with human resources for saying 'Merry Christmas' to an intern," Cummings told host Conan O’Brien.
"Is that true?" O'Brien asked.
"That's true,” Cummings said. “I was leaving... I was like, 'bye, guys. Merry Christmas.' Like just a formality, what you would say. I come back, like, June 6th. H.R. calls me and they're like, 'hey, we need to talk to you. One of the interns is pissed off that you said 'Merry Christmas.'"
The show Cummings was referring to may be ABC’s “Roseanne” reboot.
“In 2018, Cummings served as the co-showrunner on ABC network's infamous ‘Roseanne’ reboot,” reports Fox News.
As we all know, that show had its own set of issues.
Cummings claimed that Human Resources told her the intern was agnostic, to which she replied, how should I have known?
"I was like, no, no, no, no, no. You do not get to do that," she said. "Because had I known that this person was agnostic, that would mean we were in a relationship, like, that would mean we were intimately connected."
"I should not know who believes in God and who doesn't," Cummings went on. "I also can't guess either, you know?"
She tweeted on Friday that she's "been told the safest thing to say is 'have a good holiday' then to set yourself on fire."
