Last week, CNN hosted a coronavirus town hall featuring Al Gore and Spike Lee.

Because when you’re dealing with a global pandemic, an economic shutdown and an coast-to-coast surge in social unrest, that’s who you want analyzing the issues of the day: a failed presidential candidate-turned-doomsday predictor, and an anti-Trumper who makes movies.

But as we all know, CNN doesn’t learn from their own idiocy, nor do they care much about facts and truthful analysis. So this week, they’re bringing on another panel of experts, this time including teenage climate activist – not expert, activist – Greta Thunberg.

Who, granted, probably doesn’t have a lot to do now that global warming isn’t at the forefront of even most liberals’ minds, what with meat and toilet paper getting harder to come by and all. But what in the world she has to offer to the COVID-19 discussion is anyone’s guess.

Of course, she also isn't an expert on climatology or geopolitics. In fact, the young Swedish activist isn't really known for much other than getting other kids to skip school to somehow save the planet and traveling around the world taking pictures for Instagram. But despite her lack of notable achievements or expertise, she was nevertheless named TIME Magazine's "Person of the Year" and was nominated for a Nobel Peace Prize two years in a row. So this tracks.

CNN's weekly town hall, aired every Thursday since the outbreak began and hilarious entitled “Facts and Fears,” will also feature former acting CDC director Richard Besser and former HHS secretary Kathleen Sebelius, both of whom served under the Obama administration.

But then, I suppose CNN does have quite a bit of airtime to fill now that Michael Avenatti can’t come out to play.
