CNN's Jim Acosta Walks Back His Profane Message To a Former Trump Staffer

CNN Chief White House Correspondent Jim Acosta – who, to remind, is supposed to remain politically neutral – sent a profane direct message on social media to a former member of the administration he’s supposed to be objectively covering.

Here’s how it happened. Acosta tweeted Thursday, “Tonight the Trump campaign/WH turned up the music so loud the press risers were vibrating. Nearly impossible to do live TV. I suppose the WH loves those kinds of shenanigans. But I wonder if it’s a security concern for [U.S. Secret Service] or local law enforcement. They can’t hear either.”

To which Justin Caporale, the former director of operations for First Lady Melania Trump, responded simply:

Dear Diary.....

For those who don’t know, adding “Dear Diary” to just about any self-absorbed and overly poetic Jim Acosta tweet has become something of a social media joke among the Right – one that Acosta apparently doesn’t find funny. The CNN journo-activist, (whose own delicate sensibilities find it threatening and crass when Trump supporters call him "fake news") shot Caporale a direct, highly profane message in response.

IM SORRY. WHATTTT?????

After Caporale posted a screen shot of the message on Twitter and demanded an apology, Acosta posted a weird explanation for his vulgarity, claiming he’d thought Caporale was “an old friend from the campaign days.”

“Hey buddy I thought you were an old friend from the campaign days. I’m so sorry. Hope I didn’t offend you. Have a good night and take care,” Acosta wroteon Twitter.

Accordingly to the Daily Caller, CNN has so far declined to comment about their senior reporter’s online crudity, allowing Americans the nation over to rest assured, knowing that a top reporter from a major national news network covering the presidential administration is such an upright, unbiased font of never-at-all-slanted information.
