Don't Forget: Climate Change Guru, EPA’s Highest-Paid Bureaucrat Said Lying Was a 'Rush'

Thus far in the Great Climate Change Armageddon, the only things being burned are taxpayer wallets, freedom of commerce, privacy, the scientific method, and truth.

But the situation might be changing. Recent poll numbers show that more adults than ever are skeptical of the “Anthropogenic Climate Change” theory. More people outside the politically-connected “Climate Change Cult” are paying attention to the obvious role solar cycles play in climate status

But don't forget this: The Environmental Protraction – er, Protection – Agency’s highest-paid “Climate Change” guru, John Beale, got 32 months in the clink and a fine of more than $1 million for fraud, even as he admitted in court that lying was a “rush.”

For those of us who have observed the behavior of many so-called “climate scientists,” this statement comes as absolutely no surprise.

According to the ever-so-believable NBC News in 2013:

The EPA’s highest-paid employee and a leading expert on climate change was sentenced to 32 months in federal prison Wednesday for lying to his bosses and saying he was a CIA spy working in Pakistan so he could avoid doing his real job.

Now, before we dive into our tale of weatherman woe, we should note that this sly fraudster was not prosecuted for any part he’s played in what appears to be the massive fraud perpetrated by politically-funded folks tied to the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change (IPCC), “scientists” at the University of East Anglia, and many others.

Nah. What got Beale was his claim to have been a CIA agent while taking huge “sojourns” away from work.

Those would be sojourns that lasted as long as eighteen months during the Obama Administration, and, of course, the corruption was either not noticed, or allowed to continue until last year.

We should also note that his “real job” at the EPA was something no one will find enumerated in the US Constitution, and wasn’t a “real” job, because taxpayers were forced to pay for it. Real jobs happen when consumers are given a real opportunity to buy or refuse a service -- something government does not do. And that’s a point most people in politics don’t consider. Certainly, while the judge in this case noticed the obvious criminality of the defendant, she didn’t go so far as to indict the EPA or the Climate Change Cult themselves.

John C. Beale’s crimes were 'inexplicable' and 'unbelievably egregious,' said Judge Ellen Huvelle in imposing the sentence in a Washington. D.C. federal court. Beale has also agreed to pay $1.3 million in restitution and forfeiture to the government.

Surely, what NBC means is “restitution” to the taxpayers, since the government took the money from them… Wouldn’t it be nice if that were the case? If taxpayers were chosen at random, or based on how much they had taken from them, and given a little back?

The details of Beale’s case read like a tossed proposal for a “Breaking Bad” spinoff, but are worth noting for their absurdity and what they indicate about the lax oversight of the Obama administration.

Beale pled guilty in September to bilking the government out of nearly $1 million in salary and other benefits over a decade. He perpetrated his fraud largely by failing to show up at the EPA for months at a time, including one 18-month stretch starting in June 2011 when he did 'absolutely no work,' as his lawyer acknowledged in a sentencing memo filed last week… When Huvelle asked Beale what he was doing when he claimed he was working for the CIA, he said, 'I spent time exercising. I spent a lot of time working on my house.'

Perhaps he was prepping it for the great Climate Change Apocalypse.

Close:

He also said he used the time 'trying to find ways to fine tune the capitalist system' to discourage companies from damaging the environment. 'I spent a lot of time reading on that,' said Beale.

How noble! Thank goodness we have guys like Beale around to protect us from ourselves, peddling questionable “science” even as they line their pockets with our cash and debt-leveraged cash our kids will have to pay.

And the best bit… He admitted in court that he loves to lie.

'Why did I do this? Greed – simple greed – and I’m ashamed of that greed,' Beale told the court. He also said it was possible that he got a 'rush' and a 'sense of excitement' by telling people he was (sic) worked for the CIA. 'It was something like an addiction,' he said.

Akin to the seeming addiction many “climate scientists” have to tax cash, grabbing it through grants, and politically-appointed positions, and “non-governmental organizations”, and universities, even as they push spurious claims about the temperature record and the “impending climate catastrophe” we’ll bring upon ourselves unless we pay the religious-like indulgence of more tax cash and regulation the high priests of this cult espouse.

Beale has served his time in jail, but his self-righteous attitude remains firmly entrenched among the politically-connected class pushing “Anthropogenic Climate Change” even as most of them resist any request to honestly debate.

Is it any wonder we skeptics aren’t surprised one of the cult’s big-wigs being exposed for exhibiting a love of lying?
