Today, New York Mayor Bill de Blasio gave a speech at Madison Square Garden congratulating a class of 854 New York Police Academy cadets for their achievements.

"I want to congratulate you all for what you have achieved," de Blasio said. "This is a historic day in your lives."

During his introduction, the mayor received praise accompanied by many boo's and heckles from the newly-minted NYPD officers and ceremony attendees.

According to ABC 7-NY, at one point during his speech, Mayor de Blasio said, "You wil be confronted with problems you didn't create..."

In response, someone in the crowd shouted, "No, you did!"

It looks as though tensions between police and the mayor remain strong following his remarks on the Eric Garner grand jury decision back on Dec. 3.

Over the weekend, hundreds of NYPD officers turned their backs to Mayor de Blasio during the funeral of slain Officer Rafael Ramos, killed alongside Officer Wenjian Liu just over a week ago by a man vowing retaliation for the deaths of Michael Brown and Eric Garner.
