U.S. diplomats to China are being sent back to America after exhibiting “neurological symptoms” after hearing weird noises. And this isn’t the first time this has happened.

Wednesday afternoon, Secretary of State Mike Pompeo addressed the issue, stating that these new symptoms were “entirely consistent” with what was found in a similar investigation regarding diplomats in Havana, Cuba, and could indicate what are known as "sonic attacks."

In both of these cases, diplomats and their families reported symptoms such as “sharp ear pain, headaches, ringing in one ear, vertigo, disorientation, attention issues and signs consistent with mild traumatic brain injury or concussion.”

Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi said that China is investigating the situation, but said there hasn’t been any evidence to support the idea that there was any “sonic influence.”

Cuban officials, of course, denied any allegations of the same kind of attacks. Cuba even had the audacity to insinuate that these accusations were just an attempt by Washington to soil U.S.-Cuban relations.

Isn’t it rather interesting that we never got any real answers from the Cuba incident? At least the Chinese government claims to be investigating the incident and not just denying allegations.
