Sure, Chicago Mayor Lori Lightfoot doesn’t really do anything in terms of helping the people in her city avoid the violence that’s plaguing city neighborhoods. But she’s got no problem showing how much of an “ally” she is by removing statues in the middle of the night when no one is watching — well, besides the radical media who covers for her incompetence.
The Christopher Columbus statue in Grant Park in the city of Chicago was ordered to be taken down by Lightfoot just days after 49 Chicago Police Department (CPD) officers were reportedly injured protecting it from a violent mob, which the radical media affectionately call “peaceful protesters.”
Another Columbus statue was removed from Chicago’s Arrigo Park on the Near West Side, according to the Chicago Sun-Times.

The Sun-Times noted that Lightfoot said the statues were removed “in response to demonstrations that became unsafe for both protesters and police, as well as efforts by individuals to independently pull the Grant Park statue down in an extremely dangerous manner.”
CPD Supt. David Brown released video footage from the clash between the mob and officers late last Friday.
President of the Fraternal Order of Police (FOP) Lodge 7 John Catanzara had some very strong words for Lightfoot and her actions.
“I’m sick of the mayor thinking she can do whatever she wants to do,” Catanzara said. “She’s not a dictator. She’s a coward that she wanted to do this in the middle of the night when nobody was paying attention after she said she wasn’t going to take the statue down.”
Maybe now that the Columbus statues have totally ended racism, Lightfoot can shift gears to aiding in the prevention of more of the people who elected her from being shot. Don’t hold your breath, though. You might never breathe again.
