On Monday, CNN did what it usually does — bury the lede.
Chicago police officers are facing not only termination, but a revocation of their retirement benefits if they continue to oppose Mayor Lori Lightfoot's vaccine mandate and refuse to take the jab themselves.
Further down in the article, CNN noted a memo obtained by the outlet that any officer that defies Chicago’s vaccine policies “will become the subject of a disciplinary investigation that could result in a penalty up to and including separation from the Chicago Police Department. Furthermore, sworn members who retire while under disciplinary investigations may be denied retirement credentials.”
See, CNN. That’s called the important part of the story.
Instead, the left-wing, establishment news outlet led their story with how many Chicago Police Department (CPD) officers didn’t report their vaccination status, as of Monday, by the city’s October 15 mandate that required them to do so.

Anyway, Chicago Fraternal Order of Police (FOP) President John Catanzara spoke in a YouTube video posted last week that the city shouldn’t be using their authority to intrude on anybody’s “medical history” and that officers should “hold the line.”
“I’ve made my status very clear as far as the vaccine, but I do not believe the city has the authority to mandate that to anybody — let alone that information about your medical history,” Catanzara said. “Do not fall for it. Hold the line.”
