Gary Kasparov is a chess champ who was born in the Soviet Union, and fully experienced life under a socialist regime. And apparently, Bernie Sander's supporters have been lecturing him about the benefits of socialism.

Kasparov posted a scathing response in a Facebook post published yesterday on his personal page.

In the post, Kasparov said he "enjoys the irony" of being lectured by Sanders supporters given his background.

He mentioned socialism "sounds great in speech soundbites," but that "in practice, it corrodes not only the economy but the human spirit itself, and the ambition and achievement that made modern capitalism posible and brought billions of people out of poverty."

While he mentioned there were issues with "income inequality," Kasparov slammed the idea that socialism could solve these problems.

Kasparov ended his post by saying that "the idea that the solution is more government, more regulation, more debt, and less risk is dangerously absurd."
