Over the weekend, Chelsea Manning (formerly Bradley Manning) announced her bid for the U.S. Senate in Maryland as a Democrat. Manning’s first campaign ad, released on YouTube, was quickly flagged as being potentially offensive and received a barrage of “dislikes.”

Upon trying to view Manning’s ad, users are given a “content warning,” which claims the video “may be inappropriate for some users.”

While the ad uses the word “damn,” it is unclear if that is the reason why it was flagged as potentially inappropriate for some audiences.

In the ad, Manning says, “We live in trying times. Times of fear, of suppression, of hate.  We don’t need more or better leaders, we need someone willing to fight.”

The ad, which was released on Jan. 14, has over 112,500 views as of Jan. 15. The ad has a mere 1,356 “likes” to 2,499 “dislikes.”

In the Democratic primary, Manning will be running against Sen. Ben Cardin, the current incumbent senator. According to the Baltimore Sun, Cardin’s approval rating was approximately 50 percent as of October.

Manning moved back to Maryland after her sentence was commuted by President Obama. Manning leaked 750,000 pages of classified information to WikiLeaks.
