Charlotte Pence Responds With Total Class to John Oliver's Hateful Trolling

Brittany M. Hughes | March 20, 2018

What modern liberals lack in class, they make up for in pettiness.

Case in point: John Oliver, HBO’s late-night “comedian” known for making incestuous jokes about Donald Trump’s sexual chemistry with his own daughter. I guess that’s what you resort to when you don’t have much in the way of actual comedic talent.

Now, Oliver’s trolling Mike Pence and his 24-year-old daughter, Charlotte, for the cute children’s book she wrote about her family's rabbit named Marlon Bundo. The book was illustrated – quite well by the way – by Pence’s wife, Karen.

That’s it. It’s just an innocent little children’s book. Oh, and all the proceeds from the book are being donated to a charity that helps combat human trafficking, as well as an art therapy program for kids.

But apparently, this innocent little project was too good of a mocking opportunity for Oliver to pass up. In response, the late-night host penned his own Marlon Bundo story. In his version, Marlon is a gay rabbit who falls in love with Wesley, only to be told by a mean Stink Bug – illustrated to look like Mike Pence – that he has to marry a girl rabbit.

Proceeds from Oliver’s book are reportedly going to an LGBT youth funds and AIDs prevention.

Now, thanks to the left’s sizeable flock of sheeple, Oliver’s book is outselling Pence’s. Which honestly is neither here nor there to me, seeing as I don’t care if progressives want to waste their cash on second-rate spoofs about gay animals.

But what’s particularly detestable is that leftists are still trolling Charlotte Pence’s book on Amazon, spamming up the page with nasty 1-star reviews slamming Pence for being a “bigoted religious fanatic,” among other things.

Did I mention that Charlotte's book has nothing at all to do with the rabbit's sexuality, or her family's religious or moral views?

Thankfully, Amazon seems to be removing many of the more vile reviews that clearly have nothing to do with the book itself. And, despite the haters’ best efforts, Charlotte’s book is still ranked the #1 bestseller in Children's American Historical Fiction, with an overall 4.5-star rating.

And while the left went low, Charlotte went high, responding with ultimate class Tuesday during an appearance on Fox Business.

“I think, you know, imitation is the most sincere form of flattery in a way, but also…[Oliver’s] book is contributing to charities that I think we can all get behind,” Pence said. “So, we have two books that are giving to charities, that are about bunnies, so I’m all for it."
