There’s no place for racism and anti-Semitism in the realm of rational discourse — unless you’re on the left of course. In that case, the prevailing thought is ‘screw whitey.’ Racist, anti-Semites like TV personality Nick Cannon will profusely apologize for their anti-Semitic remarks, but neglect to even acknowledge their Nation of Islam-driven hate towards white people.

NBA Hall of Famer Charles Barkley gets it, at least in this case. There’s plenty of things to disagree with Barkley about, but this isn’t one of them.

On Friday’s edition of his podcast, Barkley made comments condemning the recent wave of anti-Semitism and racism. The 57-year-old basketball analyst seemed like he couldn’t believe the comments coming from black individuals, like Cannon, Philadelphia Eagles wide receiver DeSean Jackson, former NBA player Stephen Jackson and rapper Ice Cube.

“All these people who went crazy at [New Orleans Saints quarterback] Drew Brees when he said something about the flag, everybody wanted him [canceled],” Barkley said on “The Steam Room” podcast. “Nobody’s saying anything now. We can’t allow black people to be prejudiced also, especially if we’re asking for white folks to respect us, give us economic opportunity and things like that.”

At least Barkley has enough common sense to understand that there is a clear double-standard in race relations, at least recently. Barkley comprehends the give-and-take that comes with polarizing issues, essentially saying in order to expect things from others you have to give a little and not demand complete compliance with their rhetoric.

“I’m so disappointed in these men,” Barkley continued. “Like, if you want respect, you have to give respect. But I don’t understand how you beat hatred with more hatred.”

It doesn’t matter what any race hustler, leftist mob member or radical media personality says. Racism can be directed towards anyone of any race. While you’re free to say racist things, you’re not free from consequence. Barkley seems to be a man of conviction that understands that fully.
