Amid the ongoing scandal involving disgraced producer Harvey Weinstein, many actresses -- and even a few actors -- have come out with their own experiences with sexual abuse in Hollywood.

But unlike many who suffered in silence, one woman told a remarkable story about the late Carrie Fisher’s bold response to a would-be abuser.

This story comes from Heather Ross, a film industry worker and close friend of Fisher's. While on 94.9 Morning Mix this week, Ross claimed that she'd once contacted big name producer, who she declined to name but said wasn't Weinstein, to see if there was any chance she could be involved in his new project.

After meeting with her in his car, the producer allegedly made an excuse to pull over and forced himself on her. Ross said she managed to push the producer off her and flee, only to hear him yell, “You’ll never make a movie in my town and get the f*** out of my car!”

When she confided in Fisher about the assault, Ross said her friend decided to retaliate in a way that no one could’ve imagined.

“About two weeks later, she sent me a message online and said, 'I just saw [the producer] at Sony Studios. I knew he would probably be there, so I went to his office and personally delivered a Tiffany box wrapped with a white bow.'"

"I asked her what was inside and she said, 'It was a cow tongue from Jerry's Famous Deli in Westwood with a note that said, if you ever touch my darling Heather or any other woman again, the next delivery will be something of yours in a much smaller box!" Ross said.

After the experience, Ross noted that Fisher’s assistance and actions left a lasting impression.

“It felt validating to know, O.K., first of all, this woman who I love as a friend was not just a fake Hollywood friend. That’s who Carrie Fisher was. She spoke out and she put things out there in your face,” said Ross.

Ross told her friends and family about the experience but remained publicly silent for several years, saying the power gap played a big role in her decision.

With stories like Ross's coming out of the woodwork in the wake of the Weinstein scandal, Tinseltown will have to come to terms with the rampant abuse that's been laid bare in Tinseltown. But there's hope in bold women like Fisher, who went against the grain to fight the real dark side.
