Kendall Jenner, one of the members of the Kardashian clan, apparently made a social justice faux pas when she used an emoji darker than the whitest shade in a tweet.
BuzzFeed’s Ikran Dahir wrote an entire article -- citing exactly four tweets -- to prove how people are “calling out” Jenner for her allegedly unacceptable internet behavior.
In Dahir’s guide to the incident, she writes that Jenner used “emoji number 4” in the emoji shade listing when she tweeted about “girl power”:
sister power...girl power 👊🏽 pic.twitter.com/QzIziXVV0A

Dahir reports some people noticed Jenner’s choice of emoji, which happens to be the one closest to her skin tone, and criticized her for using the allegedly wrong color:

According to Dahir, Jenner’s emoji use was such a huge scandal that BuzzFeed notes Dahir attempted to reach out to Jenner's publicist to remedy the situation.
Despite the lack of evidence of any mass outrage, the ticker at the top of the article claims the story is trending as of Monday morning:
The majority of the comments on the article, however, are pointing out how there are more important things in the world to worry about that emoji usage (warning: strong language):
