Broken Record: Maxine Waters Predictably Blames Trump For 'Cops Killing Black People'

Someone please bump the record player – the Maxine Waters track is skipping again.

In a move that's about as predictable as a hurricane in July, the California Rep is now blaming Trump for “cops killing black people” after riots erupted over the death of a Minneapolis black man at the hands of a white police officer.

I know. Shocking, right?

“My first thought was, ‘Not again. Not one more killing,’” Waters told TMZ.

“I’m reflecting on all of the killings of young black men in particular, but of course black women too, at the hands of the police and at the hands of these white supremacists.”

“And I’m thinking about the way that the president conducts himself — in a way he’s dog-whistling — and I think that they’re feeling that they can get away with this kind of treatment.”

Of course, Waters’ totally unsurprising comments are made even more ridiculous given that Trump himself has ordered an expidited FBI investigation into Floyd’s death, even tweeting, “My heart goes out to George's family and friends. Justice will be served!"

Waters also took a swipe at the officer who was seen on video pinning George Floyd to the ground by the neck, saying he “enjoyed doing what he was doing.”

“I think that the officer who had his knee on his neck enjoyed doing what he was doing. I believe sometimes these officers leave home thinking, ‘“’m gonna get me the one today’ — and I think this is his one that he got today,” she said.

That officer and several others who were at the scene have been fired, and an investigation into Floyd’s death is now pending.
