Shooting at Pennsylvania Walmart - At Least 2 People Shot

Update 7:26 P.M. EST: 

NBC 10 Philadelphia reports that the Walmart shooting suspect crashed into a parked police SUV in a separate location nearby and that there was another person in the car. After crashing into the police vehicle the two persons tried to flee but police caught up with them and they are now in custody.

Original Story:

There are multiple reports of an active shooter situation at a Walmart store in Cheltenham Township, Penn.

Local NBC affiliate WCAU reports that shots were fired Tuesday afternoon at the Walmart on 1000 South Easton Rd. and that at least two people have been shot.

Witnesses told NBC10 the shooting occurred near the customer service counter.

The two victims have been taken to the hospital. The police have not revealed their conditions.

Photos show a massive police response to the report of shots fired.

According to FOX29 Philly, the suspect crashed into a police cruiser after the shooting as he tried to flee.

“According to sources, the suspect crashed into a 14th District cop car after the shooting and then got into a tussle with police,” FOX29 reports. “The suspect is in custody after Walmart employees ID'd him. No word on the victim's condition at this time or motive for the shooting.”

The police arrested the individual but the investigation remains active as it has not been confirmed whether the person in custody is the shooter or if there were multiple people involved.
