Last week, Black Lives Matter (BLM) shared a tweet backing the Palestinian liberation movement.

With over 1 million followers, the official twitter of BLM tweeted that they “stand in solidarity with Palestinians.”

“We are a movement committed to ending settler colonialism in all forms and will continue to advocate for Palestinian liberation,” the tweet continued. “( always have. And always will be ). #freepalestine.”

Not only did the Marxist organization as a whole throw their support behind Palestine, other BLM chapters across the U.S. have joined the cause.

Bruce Wilson, leader of the BLM movement in Greenville, S.C., reportedly told Arab News that his organization “will always support the Palestinian people in their struggle for freedom in resisting Israeli occupation of their land.”

Wilson furthered his support, drawing the comparison between African-Americans in the U.S. and Palestinians in the contested territory.

“When I see a black man being killed by the police in America and a Palestinian being killed by Israeli bombs, I have to have empathy,” Wilson said. “I would fight for a Palestinian child just as hard I would fight for a black man in America.”

According to the Daily Wire, a BLM chapter in Paterson, N.J., released a statement earlier this month condemning the “ongoing violence against Palestinians in East Jerusalem by the state of Israel and stands in solidarity with those fighting occupation.”

The chapter suggested that U.S. aid to Israel be cut and instead given to the “victims of violence being perpetrated against the Palestinian people.”

The statement continued, attributing the solidarity as a part of a “rich tradition of mutual support and exchange between Palestine and US-based liberation movements, from the Black Panthers to… activists in Gaza and Ferguson, MO.”

The statement in question also called on U.S. politicians to condemn “these senseless acts of violence,” according to Insider NJ:

We stand together with our Muslim brothers and sisters during the holy month of Ramadan and demand that Senator Cory Booker, Senator Robert Menendez, our 12 US Representatives from New Jersey, and the Biden Administration join us in condemning these senseless acts of violence and work to end the state of Israel’s campaign of terror against the Palestinian people. We demand that the 3.9 billion dollars in US aid earmarked for Israel be diverted to help the victims of violence being perpetrated against the Palestinian people. The People United will never be defeated!

“The People United will never be defeated!”

Think about that. That is an eerily similar rallying cry to that’s used by activists who protest against pretty much everything when they chant, “The people…united…will never be divided.”

As usual, leftist activists seem beholden to the wrong side of history they’re constantly accusing others of being on.
