Democratic presidential nominee, Joe Biden, was asked at an NBC town hall about what he would do as president if Roe vs. Wade was overturned, Joe Biden responded by stating that he would not only disagree with the Supreme Court's decision, but would legislate against it:

Number 1, we don't know exactly she would do. Although, the expectation is that she may very well overrule Roe. But the only responsible response to that would be to pass legislation making Roe the law of the land. That's what I would do.

President Trump's campaign quickly sought to exploit Biden's comments by claiming that they are more radical than most Democrats.

With debate raging among some Catholics over whether one can vote for Biden in light of his opinions on abortion, such an explicit statement in favor of Roe vs. Wade may dissuade Catholics who had previously argued that Biden was a moderate on such issues.
