Former Vice President Joe Biden says it makes him “angry” that some of his fellow Democrats “don’t get” blue-collar voters.

In a speech to union workers in Pennsylvania on Tuesday, Biden talked about the significance of having a job to the average American worker:

“A job’s about a lot more than a paycheck,” he said. “It’s about your dignity. It’s about your respect. It’s about your place in your community.”

"Some people in my party don't even get it anymore,” Biden went on. “They don’t get it. It's about our pride. It’s about our dignity. And about who the hell we are and what we've done and it makes me angry.”

The potential 2020 presidential candidate called on his party to find a message that would connect with its working-class base and get them "supporting us again.”

2016 Democratic presidential nominee Hillary Clinton was criticized as being out of touch with the working class, despite her many other excuses for losing the election to now-President Trump who had great success at appealing to its "forgotten" members.
