Democratic presidential candidate Joe Biden said he wishes schools taught more about the Islamic faith during a virtual speaking engagement, according to the Daily Caller

During a call with Emgage Action and the "Million Muslim Votes Summit," Biden said, “I wish we taught more in our schools about the Islamic Faith.”

“I wish we talked about all the great confessional faiths. [Islam] is one of the great confessional faiths,” he went on, claiming that, “[W]e all come from the same root here in terms of our fundamental beliefs.”

“You’re doing what has never been done before. You’re registering and turning out more than one million Muslim voters this November. It matters. Your voice — your voice — is your vote, your vote is your voice," Biden added.

If elected in November, Biden vowed to include Muslim American voices as part of his administration, saying he'll also end the "Muslim ban," presumably referring to the Trump administration's ban on immigration from certain Muslim-majority countries determined by the State Department to be hotbeds for Islamic terrorism.

“I will end the Muslim ban on day one. Day one. I will work with Congress to pass hate crime legislation like the Jabara-Heyer No Hate Act and the End Racial and Religious Profiling Act,” Biden asserted.

The 2020 presidential candidate also briefly discussed international relations with the Muslim community, saying, “I have and will continue to speak out for the Uighurs in Rohingya. I will work to close those God awful policies.”

Biden adds that he will advocate for the two-state solution for Palestinians and Israelis to each have a state of their own before concluding with a quote from the prophet Muhammad.
