It looks as if Governor Ron DeSantis and many of his fellow Floridians have applied enough pressure on the Biden Administration that Amtrak Joe has backed away from a crusade to withhold monoclonal antibodies (mAbs) from the government of Florida.

On Tuesday (Jan 4), HHS notified the state’s Department of Health that logistical preparation to send 30,000 additional doses was under way.
The change comes after a months-long battle between the government of Florida and the Biden Department of Health and Human Services, which claimed control of the mAbs that were introduced by the Regeneron and Eli Lilly corporations.
In late December, Florida Surgeon General Joseph Ladapo accused the administration of ‘actively preventing the effective distribution of monoclonal antibody treatments in the U.S.’ after the HHS and the FDA announced Regeneron and Eli Lilly mAbs wouldn’t be available to states beginning Jan. 3, 2022.
And that accusation came after already heated back-and-forth between the DeSantis Administration and the Bidenistas. In August, DeSantis opened rapid distribution centers for Regeneron mAbs, but, by September, the state was forced to find a different source of monoclonal antibodies, connecting with GSK’s Sotrovimab to get just 3,000 doses when the Biden Administration began “redirecting” the Regeneron to other states. From there, the battle between DeSantis and his Surgeon General, on one side, and the Biden Administration, on the other, grew more intense, until the Bidenistas announced in December the stunning suspension.
And it took total control:
On Dec. 31, HHS announced it was withholding mAbs by controlling their allocation and the amount a state or healthcare provider could receive, as well as prohibiting states from ordering them directly from drug manufacturers, a move criticized by DeSantis, Ladapo and others.
Because the Biden administration ‘decided to take full control of the supply of monoclonals, then dramatically cut Florida’s supply,’ Florida began purchasing mAbs directly from the pharmaceutical company GlaxoSmithKline, the governor’s office said, ‘but the Biden Administration took control of this treatment as well.’
This increased the anger of taxpaying Floridians and DeSantis’ Surgeon General.
’The sudden suspension of multiple monoclonal antibody therapy treatments from distribution to Florida removes a health care provider’s ability to decide the best treatment options for their patients in this state,’ Ladapo wrote in a letter to HHS Secretary Xavier Becerra Dec. 28. ‘This shortsightedness is especially evident given that the federal government effectively prohibited states from purchasing these monoclonal antibodies and serving their populations directly.’
Now, the Biden Administration has backed down.
In response to his letter, Ladapo says the administration reversed its decision and is allowing states to continue to order mAbs through the allocation system.
‘However, Florida needs at least 30,000 more doses per week than it is receiving through the allocation system to expand capacity at existing monoclonal antibody treatment sites and open new sites to treat 250-300 patients per day at each site,’ he said.
And there are other important issues to discuss before anyone breathes any sighs of relief.
For example, both the Eli Lilly and Regeneron tested their monoclonal antibody treatments by using a line of cloned fetal cells from a baby who was aborted in 1973. As the New York Times reported in 2020:
Regeneron tested the antibodies against virus-like particles created using 293T human cells. The viral particles serve as a proxy for the live coronavirus; testing otherwise would require a lab with extremely high biosafety levels. (Eli Lilly, which also is manufacturing monoclonal antibodies, is using the same method.)
And, of course, all of these sources see government paying for them, from Regeneron getting $450 million as part of Trump’s wildly unconstitutional “Operation Warp Speed,” to the subsequent purchases of more Regeneron and Eli Lilly’s mAbs. Not only is that not constitutional for the feds to do, it is not moral, and is not part of the original so-called “rationale” for government.
According to the ideology behind the Constitution, government only exists to handle human on human predation, threat, and conflict. A virus is naturally occurring (unless it’s, let's say, created in a WUHAN LAB with the help of redirected U.S. tax cash – itself a violation of the U.S. Constitution, just as an example). Therefore, the idea of government supplying medicine, for a viral outbreak, or for any kind of health problem, is contrary to the original intent of the Founders.
And even if one agrees that this particular virus is man-made, there is no provision in the Constitution for Biden or anyone in DC to pay for the drugs, hold them, or play political favorites when it distributes them. The very act of acquiring the drug is not a power granted to the feds.
So, there is a lot to be noted in this new development out of Florida and Washington, D.C., but few of the pop media are bothering to even mention it all. Instead, they look at the personalities, at the battling Democrat in D.C. and the Republican in Florida.
That’s the kind of vision that blinds Americans to a number of bigger lessons.
