A full month after making anti-Christian remarks on The View, Joy Behar took a brief moment on the program to apologize for her bigoted statements.

“I was raised to respect everyone’s religious faith and I fell short of that, I sincerely apologize for what I said,” Behar said on The View Tuesday.

Before Behar made her apology The View played a clip from VP Mike Pence during his appearance on FNC’s Hannity. “I felt that it was important, that I defend the faith of tens of millions of Americans against that kind of slander and I did so,” Pence said on Monday night.

“And I give Joy Behar a lot of credit. She picked up the phone, she called me, she was very sincere and she apologized.”

“But I did encourage her - and am still encouraging her to use the forum of that program, or some other public forum to apologize to tens of millions of Americans who were equally offended,” Pence added.

On Feb. 13th the hosts of The View made their bigoted remarks.

"I don’t know that I want my vice president, um — speaking in tongues and having Jesus speak to him," Sonny Hostin said.

"It’s one thing to talk to Jesus,” Behar said during the episode in question. “It’s another thing when Jesus talks to you. That’s called mental illness, if I’m not correct, hearing voices."

After Behar’s controversial comments, the Media Research Center launched the Conservatives Strike Back campaign to pressure the ABC network and The View’s advertisers to pull support from the show unless a public apology was made.

“Our campaign against ‘The View’ and Joy Behar has concluded," Media Research Center President Brent Bozell said in a statement Tuesday.

"Even though it took a full month, Joy Behar did the right thing today to publicly apologize for her offensive remarks. I want to thank and congratulate the massive number of Americans who supported our effort and stood up to this anti-Christian bigotry with your calls, letters and messages. Over 43,000 phone calls were placed to ABC and their advertisers demanding an apology. This clearly has taken a toll on ABC and has left a black mark on advertisers Clorox, Gerber, Oreo and HomeAdvisor who were utterly silent in reply to the uproar from their Christian consumers. While our campaign is over, let it be made clear: we will not hesitate to come after any TV personality or media figure who engages in this type of anti-Christian bigotry. Nor will we spare any effort to denounce the sponsors of such hatred. Christians are fed up, and aren’t going to take it anymore.”
