When someone tries to bully you into backing down from your beliefs by telling anyone that will listen that your intentions in whatever your endeavor in life is are less than reputable, sometimes it benefits people to push back against the smear merchants. The funny part is that the people who practice this type of bullying usually don’t know much about the content they’re railing against.
Barstool Sports founder Dave Portnoy brought his no nonsense attitude to Fox News Monday night to talk to host Tucker Carlson about the unsurprisingly ill-informed, social justice hit piece NBC News did about his company.
The NBC News vomit-inducing article in question is titled, “Barstool Sports and the persistence of traditional masculinity in sports culture.”
I know.
The crux of the article was apparently because the writer, Shannon Ho, didn’t like some of the comments fans of Barstool Sports made about certain articles on social media. These comments weren’t submitted by Barstool Sports, but because some of their fans made comments that soft, weak people like Ho didn’t like, it was more than enough evidence to indict Barstool of “toxic masculinity.”
It’s like these leftists have no idea who they go after before they go ahead with their “stories,” because Barstool and Portnoy thinks Ho’s hit piece is just that — a “hit” with an “s” in front of it.
By the way, the CEO of Barstool is a woman — Erika Nardini. But, Portnoy says it doesn’t matter what gender Nardidi is, she gets the job done.
“Our CEO is female, by the way, which in its own right is insulting to have to bring it up,” Portnoy told Carlson. “She’s the CEO because she’s brilliant. I didn’t hire her cause she’s female. She’s awesome! The results speak for themselves, but what are you gonna do?”
Portnoy just seemed flabbergasted by the whole ordeal, because he’s just trying to keep up the most entertaining sports website on the internet.
“There’s so many head-scratchers in this article, I don’t even know where to start,” Portnoy said earlier in the interview. “They [NBC News] say we’re overwhelmingly conservative. Not really true. We’re apolitical.”
And that’s how sports should be! Yes, it’s fine to have your own opinions. But, God forbid you have the wrong opinion. People who have never played sports in the entire lives want to tell you how horrible of a person you are.
